The Golden Globes may have been somewhat of a drag with the elevator music they played each time the winner would walk up to the stage, but it was truely exciting to see so many A List stars all in one room and the leading ladies not just in a leading role made a fashionable impression! Here are the trends from the red carpet!

Fashion Forward and Trendy (Not your typical red carpet gown) Emma Stone adds a cool everyday hipster belt on a silk georgette evening gown. Michelle Williams in burnout velvet with cheeta prints, and Salma Hayek in Warrior She-Ra Princess of Power Top.
Curves: Peplums or material emphasizing hips
Hip Huggers: Garments made with boning and piping for for structured tight fit
Nudes continues to be a strong trend and a must in a women’s closet whether it shoes, a bag, skirt, or dress.
Contrast: Color blocking is a huge trend and female celebs were having fun with this trend in 2011 when it came to wearing contrast shoes with a dress. Now this detail takes on the whole shibang.
