BEAUTY4STYLE: DIY “CAVIAR DREAMS”

by snapped4style on May 14, 2012

Nails have literally taken on a whole life of their own…kinda like Angelina’s infamous leg.  Blogs and blogs are dedicated  to nail polishes and DIY nail designs. Fashion photogs and celeb magazines now zoom in on these tiny master pieces too. It’s like 10 blank canvases that you can do anything with… literally.  There was a time when nails were only in tones of various reds and pinks, but now there’s more color in the world of nail polish than a pack of Skittles!

Here’s my cousin’s Samantha DIY “Cavi Mani”  (so fun being 20 something you can get away with anything..especially in fashion!) inspired by a photo she saw on Pinterest or Stumble upon..she wasn’t sure, but by now we know they’re both great sites and  she was  nice enough to tell us how she did it! Nice touch..thanks Sam :)

They’re called “microbeads” you can get them at Michaels or any craft store.  You apply the first coat of any color nail polish. Then on the 2nd coat one by one you apply the coat then sprinkle the microbeads on top of the wet polish, let them sit a for a sec then press gently down on them so they set in.. make sure your hand is over a bowl or something so you catch all the extra beads. Do that to each nail then for a little extra hold apply a clear coat just at the tip of every nail then let them dry 15-20 mins! Voila!

Here’s a simpler version she did on her mom.
