CONEY ISLAND MERMAID PARADE 2012

The Coney Island Mermaid Parade is one of my favorite NYC in the summer events. People get so creative and I love to see their take on mermaids and all things ocean. My plan was just to take pictures, but my friend Vera (that’s her below..Jenny McCarthy’s twin) wanted to channel Under the Sea in some way and she convinced me to participate, but it was literally sooooo last minute and I think we did ok…I had the pink wig, we had the glitter, and she provided the dress and fan.

Thanks Vera! Playing dress up made it more fun…next year we hope to take it to a whole another level and be in the parade ourselves!

The Hippie Mermaid. This is what’s so cool about this parade..it’s one’s own interpretation of making the ocean come to life.

Can you believe the couple above were not in the parade…don’t they look FANTASTIC! They got dressed up just for fun and I think they were one of the best dressed there. Turns out the girl did their make-up & get this she just does this kind of make up for a hobby! She really does make-up for weddings. I was so caught up in her costume, I didn’t get her info so if you see this pic please leave a comment about how we can find you through your wedding business & thanks for getting snapped4style!
