MY STYLE: JAZZ FESTIVAL GOVERNORS ISLAND 2012

by snapped4style on June 17, 2012

New York has a Jazz Festival every summer at Governor’s Island and it’s so much fun. People get all decked out in 1920s inspired attire and spend the day on the lawn sipping St. Germain cocktails and listening to a live Jazz Band. I normally take pictures of the people and the entire event, and that was my intentions but I ended up going with a friend and ultimately decided to actually sit and enjoy the festivities, take it all in, BUT they’re having another one in August so who knows maybe I’ll make up for it..and it’s so worth checking out if you like to step outside of the box and do something out of the ordinary.

Honestly, I’m so glad I got to go because family stuff came up that was possibly going to throw a wrench in the plan and I ended up putting together this outfit literally a half hour before I left. I waved my hair with a flat iron, pinned it up to give it a bob look, borrowed Grandma’s pearls and Voila! I felt sort of 1920s boudoir-esque.
